How to import my customer database to Welcome Back?

With Welcome Back, you can import your external databases and centralize all your customer information in one platform.

How to access the import feature

  1. Go to the Email Marketing module

  2. Open the Contacts section

  3. Click the Import CSV button

  4. Drag your file or click to select it

File requirements

Your file must be in CSV format. The email address is the required column, as it uniquely identifies each customer.

You can include other optional columns such as:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Phone

  • Date of birth

Column mapping

Once you select the file, you'll see a window where you must indicate which column in your file corresponds to each field (email, name, last name, etc.).

The system shows you the column names from your file and asks one by one which is which. This automatically adapts to the names you used in your file.

How contacts are updated

When importing, the system verifies each email:

  • New email: the contact is created

  • Existing email with different information: the contact is updated

  • Existing email with the same information: it is skipped

Once you confirm, click Import contacts and you're done.

What to do after importing

Imported customers don't automatically have a loyalty card, but you can perform other actions.

We recommend segmenting this newly imported customer base and sending them an email. For example:

  • A link to join the loyalty program

  • A welcome offer

  • Information about your business

Use segmentation to direct specific communications to these new contacts.
