Modifiers are the options a customer can choose when ordering a product. For example: the size of a pizza, the doneness of a steak, hamburger toppings, or coffee extras.
Setting up modifiers correctly is key to being able to take orders and payments directly from the menu.
Types of modifiers
There are two types of modifiers, and the difference is how many options the customer can choose:
Single choice: the customer chooses only one option from the group. Ideal for sizes, doneness levels, or product variants.
Example: Size → Small / Medium / LargeMultiple choice: the customer can choose several options from the group. Ideal for toppings, additional ingredients, or extras.
Example: Extra ingredients → Onion / Jalapeños / Double cheese / Pickles
How to create a modifier
Go to the Show module → Products section.
Select the product you want to add options to and click Edit.
Find the Modifiers section within the product.
Click Add modifier and choose the type: single choice or multiple choice.
Give the option group a name (e.g., "Size", "Extras", "Doneness").
Add each option with its name and, if applicable, its additional price.
Example: "Double cheese" → +$1.50Save your changes.
What are modifier prices for?
You can set an option's price to $0 if it has no extra cost, or assign a value if it generates an additional charge. The order total is automatically calculated by adding the product's base price plus the modifiers the customer selected.
This configuration is the foundation for taking orders and payments directly from the digital menu.
