Email marketing campaigns are the actual content your customers will receive. In Welcome Back, you can design campaigns for different purposes, whether they are:
Recurring campaigns (such as a weekly newsletter or happy hour announcements)
Event campaigns (such as Valentine's Day promotions)
Goal-based campaigns (such as retargeting campaigns to win back customers who haven't visited your business in a while)
Follow these steps to design and set up your campaign from scratch:
Start a new campaign: To begin, go to the email module, specifically to the campaigns section. There, click the button to create a campaign.
Design on the canvas: When creating a campaign, you'll see a "blank canvas." Here you can add and organize the different components of your email. You can change the canvas theme by adjusting text fonts and background colors. The canvas is flexible—you can move and reorder components freely.
Add components to the canvas: Build your email by dragging the components you need from the left sidebar onto the canvas. Available elements are:
Headings: For headers and main sections of your message
Text: Paragraph blocks for the body of your communication
Images: Visual content to reinforce your message
Buttons: Call-to-action (CTA) elements to direct your customers
Divider: Horizontal lines to visually separate sections
Spacer: White space to improve readability
Footer: Your business information, address, and social media links (Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.)
Customize your content: When you select any component on the canvas, its customization options will appear in the right sidebar:
General options (all components):
Padding: Adjust the internal space at the top, bottom, left, and right
Alignment: Center, align left, or align right according to your design
Headings and Text:
Edit content directly
Change font, size, and color
Apply formatting: bold, italic, underline
Buttons:
Button text: Change the message to an action-oriented one (e.g., "Reserve your table", "View the menu")
Destination URL: Enter the link where you'll redirect the customer upon clicking
Style: Adjust the shape (rectangular or pill), size, alignment, and color
Images:
Upload images from your computer
Adjust width and height to control size
Add a link to the image to make it clickable
Footer:
Include your business name, physical address, and/or slogan
Add links to your social media (Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.) by entering the URLs in the corresponding fields
5. Best practices and review: Before finalizing, keep these tips in mind to ensure your campaign's success:
Importance of text: It's extremely important that your emails include text and aren't just images. The more text in the email body, the easier it will be to reach the customer's main inbox and avoid spam. If you send emails without text components (images only), they're very likely not to reach your customers' inboxes.
Preview: Always check how your design will look on both a computer and a mobile phone to ensure an optimal experience across all devices. You can view both versions using the respective icons at the top of the canvas.
Templates: If you're satisfied with your design (logo, text, customized footer), you can save it as a template to reuse in future sends. It's very helpful to have defined templates to save time on future campaigns.
6. Save: Once your email is ready, you should save it as a draft. This will leave the campaign ready to be sent later.
